Amy Carter holds an MME with Kodály Emphasis from Capital University and a BM in Music Education from Westminster Choir College where she also completed her four levels of Kodály certification. As part of her graduate studies at Capital, Amy attended the International Kodály Summer Seminar at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét, Hungary in 2003. She has taught Levels I, II, and III for the Kodály program at West Chester University and Level III at Westminster Choir College, where she also serves as the Program Director for the Kodály Summer Levels. She has been a frequent guest lecturer and presenter of Kodály inspired workshops at both the local and national and levels. More recently serving as a contributing editor for OAKE’s K-5 Benchmarks, Amy has twice served on the OAKE National Board and is a past President of both the OAKE Eastern Division and Kodály New Jersey. In 2003, she received the OAKE Outstanding Contributions Award.

Having previously taught in the Pennsbury School District in PA, Amy currently teaches elementary general music and choir in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District in NJ, where she was recognized as the 2014 Governor’s Teacher of the Year. Passionate about teacher training, in addition to co-authoring curriculum during her time in WW-P, Amy has served as a new-teacher mentor, a co-op for student teachers and practicum groups, and a building grade-level leader. She and her husband Ken direct the children’s choirs at Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church and are the proud parents of three boys.
